Darn ipad

So after reading my few last post i noticed that this iPad changes my words. And it does not catch my horrible spelling since there isn't an actual keyboard for me to type on. Sorry about the miss spells and the word changing. When I have time to get on the computer I will go back and fix it.

Let today be the day you look in the basket

Well today would be day two of my picture day challenge but as you can see..... I have not even done day one .. It is hard since this week has been so busy and my iPad does not let me upload pics from it. Strange I can upload pics from my phone to my blog but not from the iPad. Humm. Something isn't right. O well. Moving on.

So today I started on cleaning the house since Christmas has destroyed it. It prob has never been such a mess since we moved in and then with my sister being in town I have just let it go. Being with her is way more important anyways. Today though, I had to clean.. I cant start the year off with a messy house and tomorrow is the new years eve party so I wouldn't have time to clean it. Might I add I feel like crap today. But I did it. Cleaned the entire thing. Except vacuum since mine is not working. Which I hope to go get in the next few days. But back to what I was wanting to write about.

You know when you are doing laundry and there is that certain basket that has been sitting there for a long time. You pretend not to see it. You say to yourself I'll do it last but... last never comes. Well I have a basket like that. It has prob been sitting there to be honest a month of two. I too pretend not to see it, will get to it last, kind of forget about it. Well today was the day I decided to look in the basket. A pillow, a towel, a small blanket, and then at the bottom of the basket... Omg I have been missing this stuff. I knew I had a blue shirt with brown buttons, I knew Mady had another pair of off white tights, and oh... Another shirt I forgot I had. Actually a few different things I forgot I had. Ooppss and YAY all at the same time. Well today... that basket got washed.. FIRST..

Point to the story-

Let today be the day you look in that basket to find things you miss and things you forgot!

Starting a picture challenge

I love photos. They show emotion, memory, as my mom says they show a story, they also show thing you never want to forget. Kind of like a blog with out words. The funny thing about pictures is when you look back at a picture you can remember how you felt, sometimes the smell, you remember the situation of when you took it and who was there. You may look at the picture and think OH THAT WAS THE DAY THAT....blah blah happened. Pictures are amazing. But isn't it crazy how when you look at a picture it shows time. Time that has passed. It feels like just yesterday, you can talk about it like yesterday, you remember it like yesterday, it smells and taste like yesterday but really it has been years. YEARS. It is strange. Anyways back to the point of this blog. I got the idea from a friend on Facebook and I love it. It is called the 30 day photo challenge. And ...... Here I go. This will be fun and I will start tomorrow with this.

Day 01 - A picture of yourself with ten facts

Day 11 - A picture of something you hate
Day 12 - A picture of something you love
Day 13 - A picture of your current favorite band or artist
Day 14 - A picture of someone you could never imagine your life without
Day 15 - A picture of something you want to do before you die
Day 16 - A picture of someone who inspires you
Day 17 - A picture of something that has made a huge impact on your life recently
Day 18 - A picture of your biggest insecurity
Day 19 - A picture of your favorite Holiday

Late Night Giggles

Once again I am blogging from my iPad. I have not found an application for it yet but this will work for now. I will just add my pictures later but for now wanted to tell you about my late night giggles!

So today is night four for My little chica to sleep no pacy. I was not sure how it would go but as of tonight still no tears. That is an entire blog in itself. But for tonight.... Since she does not have her comfort thing (pacy) she does not go straight to sleep. She plays, calls me in the room about five different times, and always says "we forgot something" when I ask her what it is we forgot, she takes a second, looks out the top corner of her eyes (like ever time she is thinking of something) and comes up with some random off the top of her head thing. Tonight was just like that... Going in her room over and over again for no reason other than she was awake and I guess you could say testing me in a way. Well I went into her room and and once again she is just talking. I told her this is the last time go to sleep. (with some aggravation or sternness in my tone) well, not five seconds mins later I hear that little voice yelling MOMMY pause MOOMMMMYY pause and louder MMMMMOOOOOOMMMMMYYYYY. So here I go again to her room. I open her door, walk to her bed and she wants to tell me that her humidifier is off. It isn't. She looks at me and says I thought it was. I lean over to look in her eyes as I am tucking her in to tell her to go to sleep. And my little chica takes her sweet small soft hand and put it to my cheek. Then she begans to rub my cheek ear to chin with the funniest smile on her face. I smile and she starts to giggle. She thinks it is the funniest thing to rub my cheek I guess. Her giggles give me the giggles that make her giggle even more. The giggles continue for the both of us. Our giggles just playing off the others.

My chica has so much joy in her. I see it in her eyes and her smile. Most of all i hear it in her giggles. Her giggles that i love so much. The giggles that are pure happiness from her heart. The giggles i wish i could capture on a recorder or video for you all to hear but they are so pure that not even a modal moment would be able to capture it. The giggles I want and need to hear for the rest of my life.

Next time you hear a child giggle take the time to listen to it. Watch it. Giggle back and feel the warmth that comes from a pure heartfelt giggle. It is an smashing feeling to giggle!

Our night ended with some giggles love and finally some sleep.

Small girl with a big heart

How can such a small girl have such a big heart? Madyson and I cleaned out her room today. Getting ready for Christmas. I told her that it was time to go through her toys. I came up with this idea that we would leave all her old unwanted toys in a bag next to the tree for santa to take to other boys and girls. THIS WAS A HUGE SUCCESS! It blew me away how giving and thoughtfull she was. We went through everything! Stuffed animals, babies, kitchen stuff, books, barbies, and everything in-between! Like I said, she was amazingly thoughtful. Even though it took us almost 3 hours (since she also wanted to be silly and she is moves at a slower pace than I was wanting) it was important for me to have her decide on each and everything she gave away. The picture above is a tub full of toys and books. The bag is full of stuffed animals, and we ended up with a second bag of toys also. All things she decided to give away her self. I didnt have to push her but on a few books and one stuffed animal. AMAZING. The spirit of giving can come so heartfelt and unquestioned by a 3 year old. This makes me so proud, greatful, and in awe! She is so excited to leave Santa the toys. She kept saying "I know another baby would love this" ::: heart melts::: I started cleaning out before Christmas when she had her 1st Christmas. Mainly to make room for new things... Mady has truly changed the reason for cleaning out. TO GIVE..Funny how the spirit of Christmas can shine through a child how has only been on this earth for 3 years. I am so thankful for being so blessed to have such a small little girl with such a big heart!

The last picture day of 2010...

Since Paxston (my goddaughter.. and Madyson's best friend) was born.. Kristen and I have always done picture days. Every 6 months or so, we get them together, in coordinating outfits of course, and take their pictures. As if they were sisters. To document the friendship they have/had so in the future.. when they are older and still best friends.. they will know exactly how much they love/loved each other. Today.. we decided to have my mom come along. We usually do picture day ourselves. Plus it gives me practice with everything my photographer mother teaches me, but today.. we wanted really nice, pretty, professional pictures.. It was great, fun, and COLD!
Madyson (left) and Paxston (right)
BEST FRIENDS FOREVER AND EVER
God did bless us with having little girls so close in age!
11 months and 2 weeks exactly apart..

I love Pax. sooo much!

My chica-a-dee and her little cold nose..

Below is my favorite picture of all times. I do have to say that it was my idea (stolen from a website) But my mom made the picture perfect! Ok, well Madyson helped with her cuteness and all..

I love the picture below!

Little reindeer, where is your sled?

So pretty and happy Always.. well, most of the time..

The look below is the look of. Ok enough pictures. I am cold.. in a very whiny voice!.. you all know the voice..

Below is the look I get EVERY time we get in the car. Can you guess why she is so upset.. remind you, EVERY time we get in the car.. Ok Ill tell you.. The car is cold. YES .. the car is COLD

Our day ended with cold red noses and some beautiful pictures!

She did it!!

So today I got to see the most adorable thing in the world. My chica had her first school music program. It melted my heart. I can not even begin to explain how excited I was. How impressed I was. How warm my heart felt. I wanted to cry. As I am standing aginst the wall (to better video her) I can feel the tear in my eyes as she walks out. She starts to look for me and her GrandBob and NuNu. Then she spots Grandbob (sitting on the pue).. she give a little wave. Then she spots NuNu (on the other wall taking pictures) big wave.. I see her looking for me. She keeps waving but still looking around. I know she is looking for me. She told me before preschool that she was soo excited that I was going to see her on stage and she wanted me to clap for her. Her teacher leans over.. she points me out and from ear to ear is a huge smile! She waves to me. Then I feel the tears about to come. PLEASE don't let me burst into tears in front of all these parents. It is funny because right before we all said a prayer and as the head teacher prayed, I said my own prayer. Please Lord, let Mady be fine in front of all these people. Let her love the program and let her sing. Let her not be overwhelmed or filled with anxiety. Guess I should have been praying for myself..

So my mom took some amazing pictures of her. I shot the video. Of course I have tons more video, but I put together a short movie with clips from some of the songs. She loved it. She was so proud. When I got her afterwards, she wanted to know if I heard her. She said she sang loud for me so that I would dance. She honestly melted my heart today. Regardless of how cold it was outside, I stayed warm all day long! It was honestly my favorite thing in the entire world!

This is me on the otherside of the room.

She is looking for us..

She found NuNu

:) She found me  :)

This was my favorite part. She was singing we wish you a merry Christmas and pointing right at me. You will see in the video below. It is the last song that they sing.

What a wonderful day I am about to have!!

I am soooooo looking forward to today. First (here in about 5 mins) I am going to Madyson's preschool prefromance. They are going to sing Christmas songs (I think) and I wonder when she goes on stage, if she will stand there like a deer in headlights, sing, or just freeze and cry. I am betting that she sings.. I hope so. I am taken the flip recorder so you will soon find out!! SO WILL I!!

Also, today we get to hang out with Kristen and Pax. I miss them so much. I love them so much! We are having picture day with girls. We do this about every 6 months. We want to document their friendship   :)   hehe. So there will also be a post with pictures from picture day as well.

Ok well I better get going. BIG DAY!!

14 days left.. ARE YOU FOR REAL?

As I was driving to work today I noticed a billboard. 14 days till Christmas if flashed. 14 DAYS!! Oh My GOSH! I have my tree up thank goodness. I have at least 90% of my presents, thank goodness BUT, I do not have any decorations up! I was ready to decorate 2 weeks before Thanksgiving. 2 WEEKS BEFORE!! My husband told me no. It is too early. You just put out fall decor. So I agreed.. The week of Thanksgiving though, I am going to decorate. Well that week, not only was it Thanksgiving, it was my birthday, my husbands birthday (yes.. I am 3 days older than him) and our trip to Gatlinburg. Now it is the 11th of December.. and according to the billboard, I only have 14 days until Christmas.

I love Love LOVE Christmas decorations.. it is my favorite. But, I now find myself wondering if it is too late to decorate. The mess I will make with the boxes glitter, and lights, only to have to take it back down in less than a month. How could I not decorate.. I mean, it is Christmas.. but, with only 14 days left.. is it really needed? Will it matter? My tree is beautiful. Right in the middle of my living room. Right at the front window. This tree.. This beautiful tree, makes me feel like my entire house is already decorated. Is this tree enough? Not to mention the HUGE advent calender my mom made for Madyson. It is hanging down my entire hall way. Only 2 Christmas decorations up and it feels like Christmas.. How?!

OK.. I now have decided instead of always buying Christmas decor, I am going to just get WINTER decor. So, in the future, if life is too busy like this year.. which I am sure it will be because each year life gets more busy, I can just decorate (even with 14 days left) and leave up the decorations until spring. That is a good idea right? Yes, it is a good idea. But now, back to Christmas.. Should I decorate?  I think I will go home and ask my 3 year old. See what she says. When all else fails.. and you can't come up with a plan, just let a 3 year old plan it for you! Ill post pics if we decorate this year..

Let's go out of town!

This past weekend Zak, Madyson, and I headed out of town. It is the first time since our honeymoon that we have gone on a vacation as a family. Just the 3 of us.. Zak and I love Gatlinburg Tennessee. 4 years ago, Zak and I went to a Gatlinburg to celebrate our Birthdays. 9 months later.. we had Madyson.  :)  Since Mady was little, I have wanted to take her there. To see the lights, walk downtown, do all the family stuff there that I have never done. Never had a reason or money to do all the cool stuff. Well, I can now check it off the list of to-dos. We left about 2:00 on Friday and drove. Madyson was so excited to be going to a cabin. She kept saying.. is it like a house? Are we going to live there? Can we play there? Will their be toys? Can we swim in the hot water tub? All I wanted to know was if it was going to be decorated with lights. I love Christmas lights! We arrived in Gatlinburg and YES!! Christmas lights everywhere! OMG I am so excited! Mady was like a little girl at Christmas.. oh wait.. she is a little girl and it kind of was like Christmas.. She would squeal with excitement. MOMMY LOOK. MOMMY LOOK. Pointing at all the lights. Then she would say Look Mommy! RIDES!!! As she saw the go cart tracks, water slides, and the merry-go-rounds. I loved hearing all the JOY!

After getting the keys, looking at all the pictures in the brochures, and grabbing a bite to eat. We walked back to the car and on the way we found a cute little bridge and swing set.

We also came across a HUGE rocking chair. You know who just HAD to sit in it all by herself! She is so cute!!
We made our way to the Cabin

Our cabin was amazing!
The living room above is when you walk in. You can go to the right to the master bedroom, up to the loft for the 2nd bedroom/bathroom, or left into the living room. You go to the kitchen and take a right to go into the master bathroom or downstairs to the game room. There was 2 decks and a hot tub.

She had to go downstairs to play with the adult toys. She LOVED air hockey the best! That is what she wanted to do all the time.

FUNNY STORY:
Mady's slept upstairs in the loft bedroom. She wanted to watch some tv before bed but it was after 10:00. As we are flipping threw the tv she says in such a big girl voice. It is ok if there is not my shows, I can just watch basketball. HA!! So we laid on the bed as she watched some tv. About 5 mins later she says OK GO SO I CAN WATCH BASKET BALL. She actually kicked us out of her bedroom so she could watch the game. After about 20 mins of listening to her on the monitor sing Santa Clause is coming to town and clap every time a goal was made. I decided to go up there and turn it off. She told me to leave it on and she would close her eyes and just listen to the game. Nooo. It is bed time!

Zak and I opened our bottles of wine and went to the game room. Pool was a must! He wont a game, I wont a game. We left it at that. Air hockey was fun too. I loved that there was a little get away for us to play in while lil chica slept.

The next morning, Mady woke up early and wanted to swim in the big tub. So.. we did.. YES, WE did..

Next we enjoyed the morning on the deck and then headed off to Downtown Gatlinburg for some fun!

Below are just some pictures from downtown. We got downtown around 11:00, ate lunch, and stayed downtown till about 8:00

We went to Ripley's Museum and saw some pretty cool stuff.

We also took Madyson put-put for the first time. It was a black light put-put and it was all underwater themed. They played all her favorite songs from Yellow Submarine to Kiss the girl and so on. She did pretty good at put-put. Video a few below!

The picture above is what it looked like. The rest of the Pictures are taken with the flash on.

After we left Downtown, we headed over to Pigon Forge to get some dinner. Of course lil chica had Man and Cheese. Then back to the cabin for bedtime. Zak and I played a little bit downstairs but we too were tired and off the bed we went.

The next morning we got up.. watched a movie and packed. Played outside. Took some pictures. Then said goodbye to the Cabin.

In the car and off we go. A full day of play and shopping ahead. Oh yea, and driving back to Chatt Town.
It was really sad we had to leave the Cabin, knowing we would not be back till next year. :::tear::

We went to the outlets to go shopping and on the way we found a little kids amusement park. So of course we stopped. It was fun!

This was the first time she has ever rode the swings.

Then we went shopping. When we pulled up there was some crazy smoke rolling out of the mountains. I never found out what was on fire but I did take some pretty cool pictures of it!

That was our weekend. A weekend to remember forever! I know Mady will remember it and she keeps saying she wants to go back. This time though she wants to ride on some water rides. We had an amazing time that was very needed! I can not wait till next year to go. I think we will make this an every year birthday event!
