Eggcellent Easter Eggtravaganza

Easter this year was nothing but relaxing. Usually I spend it with my family.. You know, the whole shabang. This Easter, being right in the middle of 2 family members weddings, family time was the last thing on eveyones mind. So I took the opportunity to have a small get together. This included Myself, Husband, Chica, the Best Friend, and the Goddaughter. First we of course did the Easter basket with Mady. Boy oh boy does the Easter Bunny know what Mady wants!!
She is beautiful when she sleeps.. I love her

We all just woke up.. I threw on some makeup but it is a pretty good pic! Happy Easter Morning

It is one of the chicks that cheeps when you hold it.. It's name is cheep. HA

Of course the Easter Bunny knew that anything like a flashlight was very much needed!

Her first peeps.. (I don't like peeps but Easter must I guess)
Beautiful Easter bracelet

While we waited for K and Pax, we had a little fun with the camera!

Once the girls got here, it was time for the Egg Hunt!

Egg hunting was the highlight of their day. Pax kept pointing saying OOO Eggggg! She forgot her Easter basket so she used one of Mady's that we had gotten at goodwill shaped like a car for her barbies. It was top heavy so every time Pax bent down to pick an egg up, others would fall out. The good thing is this kept the hunt going on for longer since there were always more eggs on the ground than in the basket. Mady was serious about finding them. She didnt want to talk, take a pic, or hold Pax's hand.
After some playing in the yard it was time for Easter Lunch.. Hot dogs, mac/cheese, and for dessert. Angel food cake, ice cream, blackberries, and strawberries! Mady is so cute in her little purple panties and hair bow. She looks like such a little girl and not a baby..   :(  or   :)   not sure how to feel about it

After lunch, back to the yard for some ball time!

Luckily Pax brought her bathing suit because it was HOT! and the sprinkler was waiting! Mady was not sure what to think of the sprinkler at first but by the end of it she was running around having a grand ol' time. Pax never got in the water which is strange because she is the brave one.

I loved this Easter. My chica is the best. I love K and Pax and most of all My Husband! He makes every day so amazing for me. I am so thankful for him! And he is so good looking! Just Saying!

Hope everyone had a wonderful 2011 Easter!

Running

Running, Running, Running.. Geez so many thing you can say about running.. Lets start with the negative (I know right, way to start a blog) Running Sucks! If you run from your problems, they wont get solved. If you run after your child, depending on the age, they can prob. out run you AND you are prob not running after them for a good reason. If you run from being chased, well then you are prob being chased by something you don't want to catch you. If you run to an event, you are prob late. If you are running to your car, it is prob raining or you forgot something. Today.. I ran.. yep back on track with the running. ME, I am running to lose weight get in shape. I have done really well with my crash diet. I actually have been doing for 3.5 weeks. Losing 8 pounds with no exercises. So that brings me to running.. RUNNING.. Geez I hate running. I have come to be ok with it on the treadmill .. Prob the only place out of all the listed above I would be ok with running but I still hate it. I like to run a track. You can at least see where you are going and there is an end to it. The treadmill, you just watch the calories, clock, miles, tick tick tick .. 30 mins, with a few min breaks.. I would take of a total 5 mins time and say I actually was on the treadmill for 25 mins. It will be worth it though. This isnt the first time I have committed to the treadmill. The last time I finished my commitment BUT I wasn't watching what I was eating. This time I am committed and eating right. I bought a bathing suit today.. Two actually and they are freakin adorable! They fit, the look good, I just want and need to look better. So I will run. I leave June 30th to the beach. That leaves me just about 60 days. 60 days of running NO.. I won't run everyday. I am too busy or too lazy however you want to look at it. Honestly it is both. but I will run a lot..

So the positive of running, well Ill let you know what the positive is in 60 days..

Baking? Heck, why not!

I am not a baker. I am a cook. I am a crock pot cook. I am not a baker. On this day though, I baked. See I never was much of a cook because the oven and I do NOT get along. I do my part right.. I put it all together, the over... it does not do it's part. I mean, if I can put the food together, then in the pan, then set the temp, then in the oven.. You would think.. I think it should bake without burning. Ok, so I might walk away and forget the timer but HELLO even when I am in the kitchen with the timer, it still burns. So I might decide to cook it a little extra because I have no idea what it is supposed to look like when it is done, but HELLO the ovens job is to cook therefore I THINK it should know how to cook. Just saying..

Back to baking on this day. I did it! I was practicing these adorable cake and Brownie pops from bakerella. I love them. At least the look of them so, I gave it a shot because I was planning on making them for my sister in laws bachlorette party.. (which by the way they did not turn out for the party)

Of course we had to mix the Brownie pack first.

The brown cupcake looking this above is an actual Brownie pop maker. Hobby Lobby actually has an entire section for these pops. Go check it out!! The hearts are cooking cutters that you can put in the oven.

Next you need sprinkles and meltable chocolate that hardens.
Place the pop sticks (also at Hobby Lobby) into the choco and put into the pop. This will harden and then hold the pop onto the stick.

Dip half or top or entire thing in the melted choco. Then into the sprinkles.

For my first ones they do not look too bad. I would use a different choco and I would use different sprinkles but like I said.. NOT TOO BAD. They tasted good too. For today, I was a baker!
