Christmas 2009

I love Christmas time. Not just to celebrate the birth of Jesus, not just becuase food and presents, but becuase of the smile that it brings to everyone  most everyones face. It is a time to be around family and friends. It is a time to think about giving, and kindness. We should do this year round but the truth is that is not the case. It always seems around Christmas people take the time to think and act for the important things in life. If you look beyond the crazy traffic, the extra spendings, and the long lines... You will hear the music, the laughter, and if you listen close enough you may just hear our hearts talking to each other. Here are a few of my favorite quotes about Christmas time;

The best of all gifts around any Christmas tree: the presence of a happy family all wrapped up in each other. ~Burton Hillis

To the American People: Christmas is not a time or a season but a state of mind. To cherish peace and good will, to be plenteous in mercy, is to have the real spirit of Christmas. If we think on these things, there will be born in us a Savior and over us will shine a star sending its gleam of hope to the world." ~ Calvin Coolidge

It is Christmas in the heart that puts Christmas in the air." ~ W. T. Ellis

The joy of brightening other lives, bearing each others' burdens, easing other's loads and supplanting empty hearts and lives with generous gifts becomes for us the magic of Christmas." ~ W. C. Jones
Christmas gift suggestions: To your enemy, forgiveness. To an opponent, tolerance. To a friend, your heart. To a customer, service. To all, charity. To every child, a good example. To yourself, respect." ~ Oren Arnold

Christmas is a necessity. There has to be at least one day of the year to remind us that we're here for something else besides ourselves." ~ Eric Sevareid
