Fall Trees All Around Us

Fall 2011
November

Fishing Time

Saturday was beautiful outside! We have been planning on going camping but things just have not played out for us. So, we took the time to go fishing instead. This was the first time Mady actually fished with her own pole. We did not catch anything, but considering that wasn't the point.. it was all good. Mady did hook a brim, reeled it in, and then last min.. at the top of the water it got loose. She loved it though!
Better luck next time!

Birthday Party Fun

Some friends of ours invited us to their 3 year olds birthday party. His birthday party was at the Discovery Museum. After coloring, cake, presents, and singing.. it was time to go play!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY JAXSON!

Make Something Monday

Today is:
Make Something Monday
so, My chica and I made something

We made a cute hedge hog out of leaves.. pictures to come soon, he is drying in the window seal.. but pictures below are a sneak peek

and I made this

I got it from Pinterest and decided to give it a shot, not only because it is super cute, but because I needed to see how hard it was for the girls night craft in two weeks.

I made the exact one from pinterest because I love black and white but it would be adorable in Christmas Colors which is what my next one will be in. It would also be adorable in a pattern ribbon!

I made this tree off a blog I found on Pinterest
(beter pictures below)

total of 1 hour
(with a 4 year old needing me every 5 mins, laundry being done, and lunch)

What you need:
scissors, ribbon (depending on your tree size)
mine was a 14 inch tall tree and I used 4 rounds of ribbon at 9 feet each
glue gun and glue sticks
ribbon/string
cardboard or pre-made cylinder

Make half circle but tying pen to string and using as a compass

The fold and glue your cylinder

Cut your ribbon at 4 inches. The last 3 rows I cut them at 3 inches
Hot glue them together in a crisscross way

Glue a row of the ribbons to the cylinder

repeat with other colored ribbon

work your way up the tree

Beautiful Christmas Tree

I can not wait to make this in other colors at our girls night in 2 weeks!

Weekly To Do

While on Pinterest (of course) I cam across a weekly "to do". I copied their format and ideas but I changed a few things around. I do not know if they made it for an adult or a child but it works both ways. I am doing it with my chica though. It will give a little more direction for our day instead of trying to figure out something cool to do the day of. Planning.. it is the most productive less stress way to go! I am a planner so this is wonderful to me! Oh, we are starting it today! I actually already planned on making crafts with her today before I found thing so it seems kind of meant to be.

Check back daily for updates!!
