Guinness World Records, from Tennessee

I remember being in Middle School, maybe even Elementary, and checking out from the library the Guinness Book of World Records. I even remember ordering them from the bookstore/book orders. They were always so interesting. My favorite section was the Extra Ordinary records.. You know, the weird stuff!

  • Most albino siblings:
All four children of Mario and Angie Gaulin - Sarah (b. 15 September 1981), Christopher (b. 24 February 1983), Joshua (b. 25 October 1987) and Brendan (b. 13 July 1989) (all Canada)  - were born with the rare genetic condition oculocutaneous albinism. Their father also has the condition and their mother carries the gene. The Gaulin's share their record with the Sesler brothers from the USA. Of the eight children born to the Seslers (USA), the four eldest of their five sons were all born with the rare genetic condition albinism. Identical twins John (b. 16 August 1921 - d. 18 October 1976) and George (b. 16 August 1921 - d. 28 February 1988), Kermit (b. 17 February 1923 - d. 6 January 2005) and Kenneth (b. 31 March 1924 - d. 12 February 1999) - were all born with translucent skin, pinkish-blue eyes and white hair.

Or how about worlds longest fingernails, widest mouth, tallest person, or longest distant milk being shot out from nose. I know, weird right? Well tonight I found myself back at the Guinness Book. Although this time I was online. You can actually type in a search on the website.. no searching through pages and pages of stuff. Actually, I think flipping page to page is what I liked about it. I read sooo many different records. I am pretty sure I read multiple Guinness Books from cover to end. Anyways.. I decided to look up Tennessee...

All of these world records are from Tennessee and are documents in the Guinness book.

  • The oldest living male/female twins are Benjamin Franklin Colvett and Rose Frances Bruce (USA), who were born near Alamo, Tennessee, USA, on 23 August 1912.

  • The oldest person living (female) is Besse Cooper (née Berry Brown) (Tennessee USA, b. 26 August 1896). She was born in Sullivan County, Tennessee and moved to Georgia in 1917 to seek better pay as a teacher. Back then, teachers weren't allowed to marry, but she married in 1924 and had four children. Her husband, Luther Cooper, died in 1963.

  • The most hugs given in 24 hours is 8,709 and was achieved by Jonathan Sexton (USA) at the Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival in Manchester, Tennessee, USA, on 11 June 2010

  • Jerry Hall (USA) remained submerged at a depth of 3.6 m (12 ft) on a submerged platform in Watauga Lake, Tennessee, USA, for 120 hr 1 min 9 sec, from 29 August to 3 September 2004. In accordance with the rules, he did not surface at any time.

  • Scott Hammell (Canada), escaped from a regulation straitjacket, whilst suspended by a rope hanging upside down below the basket of a hot air balloon travelling at a height of 2,194.5 m (7,200 ft) over Knoxville, Tennessee, USA, on 13 August 2003

  • The largest t-shirt measured 85.74 m (281.3 ft) in length and 55.14 m (180.9ft) in width and was achieved by Gildan displayed at the Centennial Park during the 40th annual CMA Music Festival in Nashville, Tennessee, USA on 11 June 2011.

There are actually 25 world records from Tennesse but I didn't want to post all of them. Pretty interesting!

Fall Photo Checklist

I found a set of these here. I know of a few different things I want to add to this list but I think it will be fun having a list for the next few months. On this list there are 50 ideas. Instead of doing all of them in one day, which I could do, I am going to make a point to spread them out over the course of FALL.  Sep. 23rd-Dec. 22nd

The Good, The Bad, The Thankfulness

The Good
This is again about school. The good great thing is I ACED all my classes! Ok, so I only had two classes and they were both very easy BUT it is a wonderful way to start off this adventure. I am proud.. and I only missed one class due to weather after Labor Day. Who wants to drive in flooded streets after 9 inches of rain in just 24 hours.. yea.. NOT THIS GIRL! Say a little prayer about winter though because I do not like to drive on ice either. Luckily my classes start at 10:30 this winter semester.
The Bad
Oh the bad.. ok so Friday was supposed to be my cheat day. I switched it to Saturday except it ended up starting Friday night and well, today.. Sunday night.. it has ended. I had a 48 hour cheat. Boo on me! Jumping back on the wagon in the a.m. but oh how that popcorn shrimp was good!

The Thankfulness
I am thankful for my mom. Not because she is cool, caring, and beautiful.. no . no. (at least that isn't what I am thankful for right now.. cause she is always cool a dork, caring, and beautiful) but today I am thankful that she is an amazing photographer! I get to capture moments of my chica all the time from my own wonderful skills  :)  but I have free family photos.. for the rest of my life. ::::Mom, if you start charging me.. I'll pay you in chap stick/lip gloss and I'll just raid Kayla's purse for them:::: Really though, what an amazing talent to have in your own family. Photos mean so much to me and I LOVE having photo shoots!! Today's photo shoot will be posted in the next week or two. THANKS MOM!

Hair Hair Everywhere

Her hair is long and beautiful
The perfect shade of blonde

I have never cut her hair, actually I take that back. Kristen and I cut her bangs when she was less than a year old. That was scary but turned out fine. Her hair has never been touched since. It hangs below her buttcrack and when it is wet she can almost sit on it. But rain or shine, cold or hot, and expecially when it is windy, her hair is everywhere! In her face, in my mouth, it even takes baths in the penut butter and jelly. It is getting time to cut it. I KNOW!! I KNOW!! I shouldnt cut it. It is perfectly healthy. I am going to cut it though. Around February, and I mean cut it. I will never cut her hair above her shoulders but I am going to cut it pretty close. It will grow back if we don't like it or if we miss it long. I will cry. I will cry. She will cry maybe.

For the time being, I am going to enjoy that long beautiful hair!

ok.. so maybe I wont cut it

BOO

BAHAHA..

Just because I love her..

She looks like me in this picture!

Most people say Mady looks like me UNTIL they see her daddy. She looks more like me as she gets older but when she was a baby, nope..not at all. She didn't look really look like when I was a baby other than I too was a chunk. She had a TON more hair than me and I have blue eyes, she has green. She does have my nose from when I was a little. Her body is built just like mine. Booty and all! Her hair color is kind of like mine as a little one.. more like my sisters though.

Everything else is her Daddy.
Me: nose, body build (chunk), hair color (I'm taken that one to please myself)
Daddy: eyes, eye color, eye brows, hair as a baby (Mohawk), ears, and so on..

p.s. Ill get with the Mom-in-law and add Zak's pictures.. you will understand then when I say she looked just like him. TRUST ME

While being bored at.. what time is it? Oh yes.. 12:50 am.. I was playing on Picnik. I decided to look for a picture of her that looks like me.. WOULD YOU LOOK AT WHAT I FOUND!

and just to add.. this is me then and now
